Family Service Projects

We seek to create service opportunities for our mothers to “lead them” (their families-see chapter objectives) into service rather than “leave them” at home to go out and serve others. We are diligently striving to strengthen families and build the community simultaneously.Planting Flowers at the Center For Women & Children in Crisis

July Family Service: Benefit Yard Sale

An enormous thank you to all who contributed time, money, donations and baked goods to our first family service project. Our benefit yard sale was a great success! We earned $578.84 at our main sale! Our Co-Vice President, Amber Greene, then offered to sell more of the remaining clothing and miscellaneous items at her own yard sale and obtained an additional $79.00 for our group! In addition, we gained great insight as to how to coordinate, setup, and sell items more effectively for next year which will be a benefit sale for St. Jude. The outpouring of donations was heartfelt! Those who were able to come and help had a great time serving and chatting.

Some of the donations collected will be used for our August Family Service Project to support the Children’s Justice Center Benefit Dinner and Dollhouse Festival. Our group will make and furnish a Doll House to be auctioned. We are also making and donating earrings to their doll house boutique to be sold.

August Family Service: Breakfast Service Social

We met at Canyon Glenn Park and had a great potluck breakfast and service social. We put into practice our value of the month, “friendship”, making new friends and doing service simultaneously. There were fun projects for moms, dads, teens and kids. Everyone had a great time.

Some AMI family members organize the furniture for the dollhouse to be donated to the Children’s Justice Center for their Dollhouse Festival Fundraiser.

AMI members Tricia Denning and Mishel Stonely make earrings to be donated to the Children’s Justice Center for their fundraiser.

Karmel Larson, Kathleen Gundersen and Kaitlyn Denning make earrings as Reyna Killian supervises.

Brigham Larson, our Men’s Booster Club President, leads the construction of our dollhouse with Bret Gundersen and lots of little boy builders helping.
