Our next chapter meeting will be our annual mother/daughter meeting. We will start at 6:00-7:00 at the Provo Library. We will be making Princess crowns for the children at the local hospitals. We will also be hearing from our new Utah Young Mother of they Year.
No Glenn Latham lesson this month.
As usual, we had a great meeting and discussion at our February AMI meeting. It was good to see some mothers we hadn’t seen in a while, and to have a new person join us. Welcome! Anyone is welcome to come to our monthly meetings.
Our topic this month was on the book “Christlike Parenting, Taking the Pain out of Parenting” by Dr Glenn Latham. We agreed that this book was similar to Dr Latham’s book “The Power of Positive Parenting” that we study each month. However, this book adds a Christian perspective to parenting which is very refreshing. Here are some highlights from our discussion:

Danielle Kennington, from our Utah County Chapter, was named Utah Young Mother of the Year at the Mother of the Year Luncheon on February 7. The Mother of the Year is Dixie Clifford. They will represent Utah mothers throughout the year, starting with the National Convention in Portland, Oregon in April. Congratulations to them both!

Ingrid Sorensen, also from our Utah County Chapter, has just finished a great year of representing Utah mothers as the Utah Young Mother of the Year for 2008. Thanks for all you do, Ingrid!
Our next American Mothers chapter meeting for the Utah County Chapter will be on Thrusday, Feb. 12 at 7:30-8:30. Come at 7:00 for pre-meeting socializing if you would like.
This month we will be having a discussion of the book “Christlike Parenting” by Glenn Latham. Read the book and come ready to share insights. We will also be discussing motherhood skills as part of the Motherhood Achievement Program.
